I had an interesting realization today. While I have always realized that /I/ am not normal, I never realized how abnormal the relationships I have with others are.
I taught my mother how to use an instant messenger so she could talk to me without using cell minutes or making it harder for me to do homework at the same time. Sure, that is all fine and dandy, but it has led to her frequent use of things I usually only hear from teenagers and those of similar computing usage. Constant "ROFL" and "LMAO" or "OMG" has cracked me up on a number of occasions.
Combine this with the fact that my mom and I are a little more like best friends than mother and daughter, from our sheer closeness, and you get some pretty interesting exchanges. We both have the same silly sense of humor and quirky creative strike within us. Below is an example, with screennames removed, of one of our recent 'banters'. The posts with ** before them are mom's for those of you who can't figure it out,

I wish that all had such a close, fun, and loving relationship with their mom. It's moments like these that I can look back and see what a rich influence she has had on my mind, heart, and soul.
